Courses 2013
Lecture: Workshop: Fundamental processes in multichromophoric systems II
Tutor: All principal investigators
Topics:

Detailed information see: Program

Appointments: September 23rd to 25th, 2013 at Untertiefengrün

Lecture: Design of supramolecular architectures for functional materials
Tutor: Prof. Dr. Hans-Werner Schmidt, Dr. Andreas Bernet
Topics: Detailed information see: Design_of_supramolecular
Appointments: April 15, 2013, 9.00 a.m. - 17.00 p.m. (with break), Room PNS, 5.1.00.001
If you are interested in this lecture, please contact Prof. Schmidt or Dr. Bernet.
Lecture: Light-Harvesting Processes
Tutor: Prof. Dr. Jürgen Köhler
Topics:

Starting with the quantum mechanical premise that electrons are indistinguishable, we will develop expressions for the interaction mechanisms  between molecular building blocks that lie at the heart of any energy transfer process - Coulomb and exchange interaction - and how these determine the efficiency of this process. The purpose of this lecture is to provide background information which should be helpful for understanding some of the theory talks at LHP 2013. Module LHP

Appointments: 5th April, 9.00 - 16.00, room S84, NW II

Lecture: Organic Solar Cells
Tutor: Prof. Dr. Mukundan Thelakkat, Prof. Dr. Anna Köhler
Topics: Detailed information see: Organic Solar Cells
Appointments: April 4, 2013, 9.00 a.m. - 18.00 p.m. (with break), Room PNS, 5.1.00.001
If you are interested in this lecture, please contact Prof. Thelakkat or Prof. Köhler.
Lecture: Introduction to First Principles Calculations: Orbitals as tools for understanding multichromophoric systems
Tutor: Prof. Dr. Stephan Kümmel
Topics: The course will focus on the possibilities and limitations of using concepts such as HOMO and LUMO for explaining experiments. It will discuss the differences between wavefunction and orbital definitions, the fundamental and the optical gap, and how theoretical concepts can or cannot be used for the direct interpretation of experimental data.
Appointments: March 7, 2013 - March 8, 2013, 9.00 a.m. - 12.00 a.m., S621, NW II
If you are interested in this lecture, please contact Prof. Kümmel.
